Welcome to The Broken Needle

We are an independent, family-owned quilt shop and an award-winning Janome sewing machine and longarm dealer located right on Highway 98 in Bunn, North Carolina. Our journey began in July 2016, when we took a historic old building in Bunn and completely refurbished it from scratch to build a creative sanctuary for the crafting community. We built this shop from the ground up to fill a massive regional void, ensuring that creators across the Greater Triangle, Eastern North Carolina, and Southern Virginia have a physical destination for premium supplies, expert technical maintenance, and world-class design guidance.

Meet the Team: National Design & Certified Technical Expertise

–Wendy Kruskie (Founder & Designer): Wendy is an accomplished pattern designer and educator whose exclusive layouts have been proudly featured in national publications like Quiltmaker’s 100 Blocks magazine, alongside instructional design courses on Craftsy and other major creative platforms. She specializes in matching textile artists with the perfect sewing, embroidery, or longarm framework for their creative goals.

– Matt Kruskie (Co-Owner & Certified Technician): Matt is our in-house custom longarmer and a fully certified, factory-authorized Janome service technician. When you invest in a premium machine with us, Matt ensures your equipment receives the highest tier of routine maintenance, precision tuning, and warranty support locally in our Bunn facility.
