Cotton Lace Ponchette – Class (3 Sessions)

Saturdays 10 am – noon, June 30, July 14 & 21, 2018

This Cotton Lace Ponchette is a stylish alternative to the classic cardigan. Just throw it on and head out the door! Designed by Windloop, it is knit in a long rectangle and then sewn together to create the poncho point on one side and a curving drape on the other side. The easy lace panel instructions are provided in written and charted format. Choose a single yarn or mix and match your favorite colors for a beautiful wrap. Suggested yardage is for sport weight yarn, but the pattern is flexible enough to use with any weight yarn or fiber with minor modifications in stitch count. Class will include a segment on how to adjust the pattern for the yarn of your choice. This is a fun and easy knit to be enjoyed year round.

Instructions for techniques include how to knit simple lace, increases and decreases, read a chart, seam edges, modify pattern, use stitch markers and row counters, and use of a lifeline.

Experience: Students should be comfortable casting on, knitting and purling. Previous experience working simple lace is a plus, but is not required. Students should work a 4 x 4 inch swatch in stockinette prior to class – bring this with you!
